The continuation of our ‘One Village at a Time’ project in Makoka village is
progressing particularly well; we are currently building an accommodation block
for the teachers at the school in order to ensure that they are always there to
support the school as well as the pupils.
The construction team is headed up by Kiore Fred who has
been working with HYT since 2006 alongside him Matias, another product of our
‘One Village’ training scheme.
The project commenced with training workshops for those
selected to participate in the training scheme and quickly progressed to the
digging and laying of the foundations for the new block by the end of July.
Now coming to the end of August , the construction has truly
shot along with the walls now complete and roofing soon to start. The building has really taken shape, much to
the appreciation of the teaching staff and pupils at the school.
