Following the completion of our third One Village at a Time
project in Namaganda the HYT team are swiftly moving on to another nearby village
called Makoka. Our thanks must go out to all of those who sponsored our gap
students Ryan, Rebecca and Jamie for their 14km run between 1v3 at Namaganda
and our new one village project at Makoka.
This project is being overseen by our project manager
Phillip and managed on the ground by our training supervisor Freddo. Within
this project we hope to educate 8 new trainees in construction techniques using
ISSB.
HYT are also currently exhibiting at the National
Agricultural and Trade Show, which is held in Jinja every year, we are hoping
to increase our exposure throughout the country and to raise greater awareness
of the environmental benefits of ISSB over the traditional burned brick
construction, the stall has had a huge amount of interest so far this week,
including a visit from the Vice-President od Uganda, who expressed his approval
with HYT’s use and implementation of ISSB.
