The project at Mutai is a venture funded by Bujagali Trust where HYT has been contracted to provide project management and labour. Currently there are five buildings under construction including a water tank, exam hall and laboratory. The rate of construction is considerably quicker than it would otherwise be as we are using many of our own HYT graduates and the site is being run a former trainee John, from our first 'One Village at a Time' project; Kasokoso. John's achievements are testament to training system involved in HYT's 'One Village at a Time' scheme.

The ISSB Masons in Mutai |
The buildings are of course made from ISSB which use no firewood in their manufacturing process and equally the low carbon kitchen being built uses considerably less fire wood than it otherwise would. On top of this the ISSB bricks allow the builders to use 85% less cement than the common fired bricks during their assembly as often parts of the walls can be dry stacked.

Assembly of the new Exam Hall |
The project is scheduled to finish in mid-July at which time some of the construction workers will be invited to attend another course further educating them in ISSB technology.
