A Few Words from Namaganda - by Ryan and Rebecca

During our last week at Namaganda Primary School we asked a few members of the community about what they thought of the work HYT was doing there. Here are a few words from all sides of the school on the progress HYT has made and benefits of the project as a whole.

Isaberye Robert

Deputy Headmaster of Namaganda Primary School

"HYT’s work has made the school buildings much more stable and safer due to the elimination of dust and rough walls. Since the school looks so smart now parents are proud to send their children here and it has motivated the pupils to learn. More pupils have enrolled at the school which has enabled us to introduce borders for the first time. Both the school and community are very grateful for the project and therefore endeavor to improve our academic status now that we have such excellent facilities.”

Nadiope Wilba

Teacher at Namaganda Primary School

“ Before HYT came to our school the dust from the old buildings used to disturb lessons. Thanks to the new, cleaner structures children are able to concentrate better and learn more

Balwana Dennis

Pupil at Namaganda Primary School

“ We have many new students and I really enjoy being able to board. We like it when people from HYT take us for Netball, Football and Volleyball on the new pitches. The safer, less dusty buildings also means we don’t have a problem of jiggers anymore.“

Mugenya Brian

Pupil at Namaganda School

‘The work from HYT now means the school have boarders which means I don’t have to walk an hour from home and back each day. The classrooms are very smart and I don’t have to worry about rubble.”

Chimoyake Anna

Cook at Namaganda Primary School

“The new Kitchen will enable me to cook more lunch more efficiently and also has a large storeroom. The old Kitchen was unstable, very small and it took me over an hour to boil water. We are very grateful to HYT and everyone who raised money for the project.”
